Our brown crab constitutes a sustainable food choice. They are caught using exclusively tailor-made traps that have virtually no impact on the local environment. The traps are filled with fish as bait and are then thrown overboard and settled on the seafloor. Our fishermen frequently check in on these traps to avoid trapping small or egg-carrying crabs.
One-third of the meat in a brown crab is white meat from the claws. The rest of the crab consists of brown and white meat from the crab's body and legs. The claw is famous for its high protein content, slightly firmer consistency than what you find in the crab's body. Although, it still has the juicy and flaky texture that the brown crab is known for.
Norwegian Shores offers fresh and frozen claws in season (June to November) and frozen out of season.
